Books are the best investment you can make

They are risk free, have an insane compounding effect, are widely accessible, dirt cheap, and almost no one else is doing taking advantage of them.

Reading will make you intelligent, interesting, wise, and it'll fill your soul. It'll keep you out of trouble, there is no negative effect for overconsumption, and you can't go broke doing it.

I read books for the same reason I do deadlifts. I like doing difficult things that are unsexy but have an absurdly high return on investment.

I write about books because it helps me mentally process books better. I don’t want to just say I read a book, I want to really learn what an author is saying and that requires me to spend time writing what I think I learned. I also write about books because I want to attract like-minded people to my life and my book club.People who get excited about the same books and ideas as me are probably people I am excited to befriend.
